3 Month's {Benjamin}

Weight: 14lbs. 7ozs.
Height: 25in. (that's hopefully pretty accurate)

There was no Dr. appointment this month so I just took his measurements at home. We return for his 4 month check up in July which is when I believe we find out if he can start on solid foods. Yea!

This has been a big month for the little man, although not really little. On June14 Benjamin rolled over from his tummy to his back. It was so unexpected and exciting. He has also begun gripping onto objects like his rings, blankets, and small stuffed animals. He works really hard to get them in his hands.

He has officially moved into 3-6 month clothes and in pajamas is comfortably in 6 month ones. It is truly amazing to see how fast he is growing and changing. Speaking of something that is not changing is his eye's, they are still blue with a brown streak in his right eye. I hope they stay!!!

He still sleeps through the night, going down between 8-9PM and sleeping until 5:30-7AM when he wakes for a bottle. At this time he usually takes between 3-5 ounces and goes right back to sleep. Benjamin will take about 6 bottles a day at 5-6 ounces about 3 hours apart. His last bottles are at about 6PM where he will eat about 5 ounces and then at 8PM we top him off with between 3-5 ounces. He is a little eating machine.

In the last couple of weeks we have noticed that he is chewing on his hands much more frequently and his drooling has tripled. We are pretty sure that he has begun budding teeth. Every day or so I check to see if anything has broken the skin. Thankfully he has taken this pretty well, other then being a little crankier in the evening he is his happy little self.

Oh Deer!

My sister and I packed up the kiddos last Thursday after work and got on the road in the rain to head to Myrtle Beach. It was a quiet ride most of the way other then listening to the sound of the rain on the car (which we drove through almost the entire way). Benjamin feel asleep and Olivia cried for 30 minuets for me to sit in the backseat with her while she tried to go to sleep as well. Unfortunately I was driving. The last part of our drive is a 2-3 hour stretch from I-95 to Myrtle Beach on a mostly desolate Route 17 which goes mostly with no lights on it. I have driven this many times in the last 3 years and am pretty familiar with it. I am always reminded to be very careful and to ensure the car is full of gas so there will be no need to stop.

So as usual we were all set as we pulled off 95 and began our journey down 17, only after being on the road for about 45 minuets a deer ran out on the left side of the road between some big orange barrels and cut right in front of my car. I hit it at about 9:30 at night on the road with no lights. The kids were still sleeping as I freaked out and Jamie kept telling me to stop so we could check out the car. But I insisted that we keep driving as visions of us stopped on the side of the road only to be stolen or attacked rushed through my head. No as long as my car could drive I was going. We made it to the closest gas station and checked out the damage, not terrible but my front end needs to be fixed.

Our trip was off to a great start! Luckily we made it the rest of the way without further incidence. We enjoyed another weekend visiting with Memom, Pop, Aunt Bev, and Uncle Dennis. Mom, Jamie, the kids, and I entertained them. We went shopping and did lots of eating. Everyone loved meeting the newest addition to our family and talked about how BIG he is.

Aunt Bev cleared out some of her treasures and sent them home with Jamie for her new apartment. I am still not sure how I fit everything in my car to come home.

I can't wait until August when the whole Koch family will be together again for my cousin Amanda's wedding!

Baby Weight Round 2

Baby weight has been a struggle for me since Olivia. I was 115lbs when I got pregnant with her, when I gave birth I was up to 150lbs. Yup, I was a fatty! It's ok I can lovingly say that about myself because I can blame some on being super swollen and some on my amniotic fluid levels being too high, the rest that was all me.

Just 2 weeks before giving birth to Olivia
Now in the time following I was able to lose a good bit and got down to 127lbs before I got pregnant with Benjamin. Yet again I gained a lot of weight and when I gave birth to my almost 10lb son I was 170lbs. I swear it may have all been in my stomach this time.
Just days before giving birth to Benjamin!
I am just a few days shy of being 11 weeks not pregnant (not sure how else to say that) and I am only 6 pounds away from my pre-Benjamin weight (127lbs). This is great news to me especially since I have yet to even make it to the gym. Which my plan once coming back to work was to go every day before I picked up the kids. I just miss them so much I would rather go get them! I have backed myself right into 3 more pairs of shorts and my Gap Skinny jeans! Go Me!!!

I am far from my goal weight of 115lbs but I am well on my way, thank goodness for breastfeeding (ie: pumping). I can't wait to be able to do abdominal work once I hit the 12 week mark as well. Altough I am not sure what that is going to do since my muffin top is really mostly extra skin in the front. More to come as I begin actually working out!

Crazy Hair 2.0

I love when I wake up and go in to get Benjamin from his crib. He is always happy and smiling. But this morning I went in to his smiling face and had to look twice because he had some crazy hair just like Olivia! Yup, I had to bust out the camera and catch a few early morning pics. I took him to our room where Olivia was just waking up herself and the original crazy hair wanted to hold him. Not just hold him but 'pictures' too! So here are some pics of my little ones bright and early this morning.

Graduates

Congratulations to Colton and Hayden who graduated Saturday night from Boone High School. We are so proud of you both!
