Baptized in the Lord

"There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all."
Ephesians 4:5-6

Olivia was baptized on Sunday August 8, 2010. On her special day she was wearing a family heirloom that is over 50 years old. My mom and aunts wore it, then all their children wore it, and now Olivia. She is the first in this new generation to wear this garment. It was sent to me by the keeper (Aunt Kathy) with a lovely letter from the family, welcoming her.

Today our beautiful little girl was brought into the Catholic Church. She was baptized at the 9am mass and it was such a beautiful service. Father Augustine who is the Priest that married Ben and I back in September was there to bathe Olivia in the font.

Father said some lovely things about how Ben and I were one of the first couple's he married at Saint Charles and now he was lucky enough to be bringing our first child into the church. Olivia was amazing during the whole mass and her baptism. While he was going through the ceremony and talking to her, she just stared at him. Not a cry or whimper came from her mouth when he bathed her in the holy water and when he anointed her head with oil she smiled at him. Not only did we have her Godparents DJ and Jamie next to us but we were surrounded by our family and friends.

After her service we had a wonderful celebration at Jamie's house. Of course Olivia had an outfit change and partied in the dress that Jamie and I both wore after our Baptism's. It fit perfectly and just made the day that much more special.

We have to thank all our wonderful family and friends for coming to support Olivia and us in her new journey.
