10 Days {Benjamin}

Well, Benjamin is now 10 days old and we have all made it through really fantastically. He is growing and happy.
Smiling for Mommy!

So far he only cries if he is wet or hungry, most of the time its the later. I feel like he eats all day. We nurse about every 1-3 hours during the day and let me tell you this kid knows how to eat. Unlike our fist 6-12 months with Olivia. We are exclusively nursing which I am thrilled with, it's so funny how things can differ from child to child. At night he would rather sleep then eat, I actually have to set my alarm so that I can wake him up to feed him. We are nursing two times a night with 3-4 hours between, usually around 12am and then again around 4am, by the time he wakes for his 3rd feeding its time to wake up anyway. It has been a dream, literally, I guess that is what happens when you birth a 9lb 8oz. baby.

Last Friday we went to his first appointment at the pediatrician. He had gained one ounce and went from 8lbs. 13ozs. at time of discharge from the hospital to 8lbs. 14ozs. Great news when you are breastfeeding. He really didn't like being undressed to be weighed and measured though which is pretty normal for him he likes to be clothed and warm at all times. He did great though and Dr. P was very pleased. His next appointment is April 3rd.

Monday was my check up with Dr. Peppy and Benjamin came along for the ride. All of Dr. Peppy's nurses were just in love with this little guy and the nurse that had done all of his sonograms came running out to congratulate us and say she couldn't believe that she was that on track with his weight. I got all 17 staples out (not terribly unpleasent) and Dr. Peppy checked me out, all is well. Since we had a C-Section I wasn't able to get the picture of Ben, Benjamin and him at the hospital so we did that while we were there.

After our appointment it was off to Great Mommom and Great PopPop's house for dinner and so Pop Pop could finally meet his Great Grandson!

Other then these few outings it has been a quite week at home for us. Spending as much time resting, playing with Olivia, and feeding the growing boy. This trasition is going well so far.
